In simple terms, you are eligible if you have completed 10+2 (Science stream) or an equivalent qualification with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) as subjects, from a board TU recognizes. The entry path looks like this:

Minimum Marks (GPA) Required
This is where most applications get rejected. TU evaluates your grade 11 and grade 12 results together, and recent entrance rules require:
- At least D+ grade in each individual subject of grades 11 and 12, and
- At least C grade in aggregate across Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
SEE and +2 Requirements
- SEE (Class 10): You must have passed SEE. Your SEE grades matter mainly for admission to colleges; the entrance eligibility itself focuses on 10+2 level results.
- +2 (Grades 11 & 12): Your eligibility is judged on the combined grades of both years — grade 11 and grade 12 together, not class 12 alone. A gap year does not disqualify you.
Biology Students — Can You Apply?
Biology stream students are frequently confused about this. The rule depends on your subjects, not your stream label:
- If you studied Physics and Chemistry with Biology instead of Maths, you are usually not eligible for BSc CSIT, because Mathematics is a mandatory subject.
- If you studied Physics, Chemistry and Maths plus Biology (extra subject), you can apply like any PCM student.
- Some years TU offers bridge/math courses or special provisions — check the current notice rather than assuming a previous year's rule still applies.
Diploma (CTEVT) Holders
- Holders of a 3-year diploma in an engineering or related technical field from CTEVT (or an equivalent recognized body) are generally eligible.
- The diploma must be equivalent to 10+2 as recognized by TU for this programme.
- Contact your institution if your diploma title is not a standard engineering field — eligibility is decided case by case.
Documents Required
Keep scanned copies ready before the form opens. The usual checklist:
- Grade 11 and grade 12 marksheets (or a combined transcript)
- SEE / School Leaving Certificate (SLC) or equivalent
- Character certificate (if requested)
- Passport-size photo (digital, per the form specs)
- Citizenship or passport for identity
- Valid email address and mobile number
- For A-Level / international students: equivalence and transcript documents
Common Eligibility Mistakes
- Assuming Biology stream with Bio-Math exemption is fine. If Maths is missing, you are not eligible.
- Only checking class 12 marks. Eligibility uses grade 11 and 12 combined.
- Ignoring the C-grade PCM aggregate rule. Passing each subject is not enough — the PCM aggregate matters.
- Uploading the wrong or blurry marksheet. Verification rejects unclear documents, and re-upload windows are short.
- Waiting until the last day. Leave at least two days before the deadline in case your application is rejected.
