The whole checklist in 4 sentences

Carry two things: your printed colour admit card and your original photo ID. Leave everything else at home — MEC gives you a black gel pen in the hall. Be at the centre by 9:00 AM (2 hours early) for biometric and security checks; the hard cut-off is 11:15 AM. Spend the 3 hours on Biology, Chemistry, Physics, MAT in that budget, then reserve the last 5 minutes to check your OMR sheet.

Checkpoint 2

What to Carry

CarryRule
Printed colour admit cardScreenshots and digital copies are strictly prohibited.
Original photo IDNepali: citizenship + National ID. Foreign: passport or e-ID. No photocopies.
Leave at homePens, pencils, erasers, stationery, calculators, phones, smartwatches or watches, bags, wallets, purses, jewellery, correction fluid. A black gel pen is provided inside the hall — you do not need to bring one. Confirm the final banned list on your own admit card and the official MEC notice.

Checkpoint 3

Reporting Time

  • Reach by 9:00 AM. Two hours early, because biometric screening and security clearance happen before entry and the queue is long.
  • 11:15 AM is the hard cut-off. Fifteen minutes after the paper starts, the door closes. There is no late window.
  • Eat light, then stop. Bathroom before you sit down — you cannot leave once the paper starts.
  • Phone away before you walk in. Store it as the invigilator directs.
  • No proxies, no discussion of answers inside or outside the hall. A proxy candidate or any breach of discipline cancels the paper.

Chemistry50~45 minCheck units; skip long mechanisms

Checkpoint 5

OMR & Marking Rules

  • +1 correct, −0.25 wrong, 0 unanswered.
  • Guess only when you can eliminate one option. Under +1 / −0.25, killing a single wrong choice makes a guess profitable. See the guess-or-skip arithmetic.
  • Fill every bubble completely. Half-filled or smudged can read as blank or as a different option.
  • No stray marks, no erasing, no correction fluid. Change an answer the way the instructions on the sheet require.
  • Stay until the full 3 hours are over.

Checkpoint 6

Night Before & After

  • Night before: admit card printed, ID ready, centre located, mistake notebook only — then sleep. No new chapters.
  • After: hand in the sheet, check nothing is left behind, and do not discuss answers with anyone.

If you remember only five thingsPrinted colour admit card · original photo ID · reporting at least 2 hours early · the 60-second cut-off · a 5-minute OMR check at the end. The pen is already on your desk.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Two things: the printed colour admit card and the original photo ID used in your application (citizenship plus National ID for Nepali candidates, passport or e-ID for foreign candidates). Screenshots and digital copies are not accepted. Pens and stationery are banned - MEC provides a black gel pen in the hall - so leave the calculator, phone, watch, bag and jewellery at home.

By 9:00 AM - two hours before the 11:00 AM start - because biometric screening and security clearance happen before entry and the queue is long. All 2027 centres are inside the Kathmandu Valley, and nobody may leave before the 3 hours are over.

No. Electronic devices are not permitted in the hall, and a phone is not a valid way to show your admit card. Print the admit card in colour and store the phone as the invigilator directs.

None - pens and stationery are not allowed in the hall. MEC provides a black gel pen to every candidate, and that is the pen you fill the OMR sheet with. Fill each bubble fully, avoid stray marks, and do not erase or use correction fluid.

Light review only: your mistake notebook and formula sheets. Do not open new chapters or cram. Memory consolidates during sleep, so protect 6-7 hours and sleep by 11 PM.

The entry cut-off is 11:15 AM - 15 minutes after the paper starts - so there is no late window. Report to the centre immediately if you are delayed and follow the staff's instructions, which is why leaving home by 9:00 AM matters.
