MEC's entrance syllabus curriculum fixes a distinct subject structure for each programme group. Group I is the only one that carries Chemistry and Physics at 50 each. Groups II and III hold Zoology and Botany at 40 each but cut Chemistry and Physics to 40, spending the freed-up 20 marks on programme-specific content. Weightage should drive the order you revise, and your personal weak chapters should then override the default order. The sequence below assumes a Group I, II or III paper; if you sit Group IV (BNS / BMS), swap the science blocks for the nursing core — Community, Adults, Child and Midwifery nursing hold 100 of the 150 core marks. A sensible starting sequence:
- Biology first (80 marks). Human Biology & Physiology (15 in Zoology), then Biodiversity, Genetics and Plant Physiology (21 in Botany) — the official heavy units — on the 1-3-7-30 schedule.
