Quick answer

MECEE-BL 2027 registration runs August 10–31, 2026 (Shrawan 25 – Bhadra 15, 2083), with a double-fee window through September 7. The application fee is NPR 4,000 (Nepali) or NPR 8,000 (foreign), payable only on entrance.mec.gov.np. Apply once, pay once per programme, and keep your payment receipt and form number safe.

The MECEE-BL 2027 Registration Window

The Medical Education Commission (MEC) accepted online applications for the MECEE-BL 2027 cycle from 9:00 AM on Shrawan 25, 2083 (August 10, 2026), open to every eligible candidate competing for a seat in the undergraduate medical education programmes the exam covers. The portal keeps the normal-fee window open until 5:00 PM on Bhadra 15, 2083 (August 31, 2026). Anyone who misses that cut-off gets one more chance: from 5:00 PM on August 31 the window reopens at double the application fee and stays open until 5:00 PM on Bhadra 22, 2083 (September 7, 2026) — a hard close, not a rolling deadline. Every form goes through the Commission's online application system at entrance.mec.gov.np; there is no paper form and no walk-in counter.

What the “2027” meansMECEE-BL 2027 is named after the academic year of admission — you would begin your MBBS/BDS etc. in 2027. The entrance exam itself is held the year before, expected around early October 2026 (Ashwin 2083) — the same pattern as MECEE-BL 2026, whose exam was held in late 2025.

Both the normal-fee deadline (Bhadra 15) and the double-fee deadline (Bhadra 22) are hard closes at 5:00 PM. After September 7, the portal stops accepting applications for this cycle — there is no further extension mentioned in the notice.

Payment is accepted through Himalayan Bank Limited (counter deposit at any branch), Connect IPS, eSewa, Khalti, and card payment. Whichever method you use, the money must move through the MEC portal — the notice is explicit that you must not transfer money directly to the Commission's bank account.

Programmes Covered by MECEE-BL 2027

One entrance, one merit list, multiple programmes. MECEE-BL 2027 covers these undergraduate health-science programmes:

GroupProgrammes
Doctoral-streamMBBS, BDS
Nursing & alliedBSc Nursing / BSc Midwifery, BASLP, B Perfusion Technology
Health sciencesBAMS, BNS, BSc MLT, BSc MIT, B Pharm, B Optometry, BPT
Public healthBPH

You can apply for more than one programme, but each needs its own separate bank voucher and online application form with a separate payment.

Who Can Apply

Eligibility depends on your programme group, but the general shape is the same: a +2 Science background with the right subjects and aggregate. Typical requirements are:

  • +2 Science or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Minimum aggregate of roughly 50% (GPA about 2.4+) with at least a C in each subject, measured on the 100-marks basis the notice describes.
  • Nepali applicants need a citizenship certificate or National ID; foreign applicants need a passport or e-Aadhaar Card and follow a separate official notice for foreign candidates that lets them choose between sitting the MECEE-BL or applying on their own country's national entrance exam.
  • Specific programmes (for example BNS/BMS nursing, which requires PCL-level completion and Nepal Nursing Council registration) have their own additional rules.

Check your exact programme's thresholds in the official notice before paying — the fee is non-refundable, so eligibility screening happens before you pay, not after.

How to Apply, Step by Step

The full flow lives on the MEC portal. Here is the sequence from the official notice:

  1. Open the portal. Go to entrance.mec.gov.np (or start at mec.gov.np and click “Online Application”).
  2. Create an account. Click “Login” then “Don't have an account? Register here.” Use your own details — the account is tied to your identity for the admit card.
  3. Pay the fee first. The notice says most profile details can only be entered after you pay. Use the portal's Make Payment flow with eSewa, Khalti, Connect IPS, card, or the Himalayan Bank voucher.
  4. Fill the registration form. After payment, click “Start Registration” on the dashboard, enter your personal details, and attach the required documents.
  5. Verify and save. Check every detail — spelling of your name exactly as on your citizenship/NID, date of birth, programme selected — before submitting. The fee is non-refundable.
  6. Keep your proof. Save the payment receipt and your form number. If you deposited at the bank, enter the last six digits of the Transaction Number (TRN) from the voucher in the form's specified field.
Apply early, then start practisingRegistration takes an hour, but the exam is 200 MCQs in 3 hours with a -0.25 negative marking rule. Once your form is in, spend your energy on biology's 80 marks — practise one chapter-wise set in the app and let the dashboard show where you bleed marks.

Documents You Need

  • Citizenship or National ID (or the NID application slip). Minors who have passed Grade 12 may use a minor's identification card from the District Administration Office, per the 2027-cycle relaxation.
  • One passport-size photo in the specified format for upload.
  • SEE grade sheet and +2 transcript (or equivalent).
  • Reserved quota recommendation letter, if you are applying under a reserved category.
  • Foreign applicants: a scanned copy of your passport or e-Aadhaar Card plus a scanned transcript of your Diploma / Proficiency Certificate Level / Grade 12 (or equivalent), per the official foreign-candidates notice.
  • Community school / board / council documents if your programme requires them (e.g. a licence for board-programme applicants).

Scan everything before you start. Fuzzy scans and mismatched names are the most common reasons forms get held up.

Payment Rules That Trip People Up

  • Pay through the portal only. Direct transfers to the Commission's bank account are explicitly not allowed and may not be counted.
  • One voucher per programme. A single voucher cannot be used for more than one programme — each programme gets its own payment and form.
  • Enter the TRN correctly. Cash deposits need the last six digits of the voucher's Transaction Number in the form's designated field.
  • Do not double-pay. The fee is non-refundable. Check your form before you submit, not after.
  • Use the official site only. Be careful with look-alike third-party sites that charge extra fees; the only portal is entrance.mec.gov.np.

After You Apply

Once your application is in:

  1. Watch for the admit card. MEC publishes admit cards online about 5 days before the exam; print in colour. Details in the admit card & exam-day checklist.
  2. Track the exam date. “2027” here is the academic year of admission, not the exam year — the exam itself comes the year before. The 2027-cycle notice had not announced the date at the time of writing. MEC's integrated academic calendar 2083/84 points to the third week of Ashoj 2083, roughly early October 2026 — treat that as an expectation, not an announcement, and confirm on the portal.
  3. Learn the exam structure now. It is 200 MCQs, 200 marks, 3 hours: Biology 80, Chemistry 50, Physics 50, MAT 20. Your registration is the easy 30 minutes; the merit list is decided by what you do between now and exam day.
